Iconic Frisco Shop Diner Offers Equipment & Memorabilia at Auction
After 65 years, the last of the Night Hawk Restaurants, The Frisco Shop diner has closed its doors. The owners have decided to sell all of their kitchen equipment, furniture and even their memorabilia at auction. Scott Swenson of Jones Swenson Auctions noted, “Patrons of The Frisco Shop will remember the collectible menus, photos & art that were on display in this Austin landmark. The owners, Julia and Harry Akin decided to let the historic memorabilia sell to their faithful customers, so they can have something to remember “The Frisco”.
The auction is being conducted online only and lots will begin closing in order at 9am on Tuesday September 11th. All items are available for inspection on Saturday Sept. 8 and Monday September 10 from 11am to 4pm. For complete info go to or email
